Meet SARA National's New President, Asaf Yogev, ARA

ASAF YOGEV, ARA

ASAF YOGEV, ARA grew up in Israel, moving to the U.S. for college in 1995. He first attended Santa Monica College, then Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute, where he completed his B. Arch degree. He is an Associate at CTA Architects P.C. where he began working in 1998 as a student intern. He has worked extensively in the areas of design, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation. After being a director on the SARA NY board since 2015 Asaf was elected vice president in 2016 and then president of SARA NY, the organization’s largest and the most active council, in 2018. Under his leadership several initiatives have thrived in direct service to dozens of members in a variety of areas, including the Young SARA ARE Study and Mentorship Group, an unprecedented number of free accredited Continuing Education, the popular Architecture offices Open-houses program, and significant building tours. Asaf is a founding member of the Spring of Hope Schools in Cambodia. Begun in 2014, the schools now teach English and computer skills to over 300 students and providing scholarships to graduates of the program. He is also involved with Friends Without a Border, a non-profit that provides high-quality medical care to children in developing countries.  Asaf has been a cyclist and supporting crew member of “Braking AIDS” since 1999, raising money and awareness for those living with AIDS and HIV.  Asaf is in his first term as National President.  He lives in New York and has a two-year old Daughter named Sofia.
