The Venue

The National Design Awards for the Society of American Registered Architects will be held at Hotel Marcel, an award-winning, net-zero carbon hotel located in New Haven, Connecticut. Hotel Marcel brilliantly repurposes the iconic Brutalist-style Pirelli Tire Building, designed by famed architect Marcel Breuer in 1967, and provides a truly inspiring setting to honor architectural excellence.

LEED Platinum-certified, Hotel Marcel is the nation’s first Passive House-certified hotel, as well as the nation’s first zero-emission hotel. We are especially proud to celebrate this venue knowing that the renovation of this historic hotel was led by the firm of Bruce Becker, a SARA member, whose work helped bring new life to an architectural landmark while preserving its remarkable legacy.
