Loren Aiton, SARA, NCARB, CASp, LEED AP BD&C

Loren Aiton is an Associate and Senior Architect with TETER, LLP, Architects and Engineers in Fresno, California. Loren has been in the construction industry for over 40 years, with 35 years as a Licensed Architect. He has performed in the role of Designer, Project Manager, Project Architect, Construction Administrator, and Construction Manager through all phases of design and construction of new and remodeled facilities on both Public and Private Sector Projects. He has an NCARB Certification and is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp). A CASp is an expert in the field of construction-related accessibility. Certified Access Specialists are certified by the California Division of State Architect and qualified to inspect constructed facilities and issue certificates of inspection. He also serves as a Lecturer and Professor at California State University Fresno in the Construction Management and Architectural Studies Programs, teaching classes in architectural design, construction management, Building Codes, and Sustainability in Construction. As a LEED Accredited Professional, he has completed 19 LEED Certified projects. A LEED AP since 2004, he was a founder of the US Green Building Council, Central California Chapter, serving for 10 years on the Board of Directors and past president. He contributed to the development of both LEED NC 2009 and LEED NC v4 rating systems. Loren has been a frequent speaker and educator on sustainability in buildings and still is active with organizations focused on tracking and reducing embodied carbon in materials, zero net energy, and zero net carbon in design.
