Living with L’Enfant: A Walking Tour of Downtown Washington

Nov 15 10am - Noon

SARA Treasurer and Mid-Atlantic Chapter Founding Member Steve Knight will offer a walking tour exploring some of the avenues, parks, and buildings that make Washington so unique in American urban design. Steve has given several well-received architectural walking tours, and this one will examine some of the special features of Pierre L’Enfant’s 1791 plan for the city, the attributes of its building height limit, and Washington’s emphasis on historic preservation and adaptive reuse.

The tour will culminate at the Saatva Logan Circle Showroom with networking and lunch.
